Josh here, and I cover tech and games for the South China Morning Post. Kǎleland is a space where I journal all my musings and research which typically don’t make it to the final draft of a story. As I’m also a bit of a pop culture nerd, this will be a space where some cliché 直男 observations get published.

What does Kǎleland mean? Well, if you don’t know, look up “ka le Dota2”. I always relish the term “ka le” as a delightful mark of transnationalism.
